whirlwind

It has been a whirlwind of a month.

Our friend Dustin passed away.

We found out my mama has cancer.

& a dear friend and one of my bridesmaids' dad passed away.

But goodness, it has still been a good month.

A month of growth, love, encouragement, trust & faith.

The Lord has worked deeply in me this month, and I couldn't be more grateful.

He has shown me who He is & how much He loves us.

He loves us so much and He knows what He's doing...that's what I keep learning and in more depth.

I've seen Him work in many of my family members, and I trust that He will continue to use these hardships to bring many to Him.

Mostly, I'm learning a lot about trust, and wow does that KILL any fear.

I can't be afraid of what will come, because I KNOW that He knows what He is doing.

Seriously, such a weight off my shoulders.

Thank you, Jesus.

So, a quick update on my mama.

She spent a week with my dad in Chicago at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, but they have chosen to go with treatment in Georgia so my mom can be near our family during chemo.

She starts chemo on July 15th.

Of course we so appreciate your prayers continually, mostly that the Lord will use this cancer for His glory!

Here is the past month in photos:

{Our ladies fellowship has been making moose hide key chains for a group that is coming up here to serve. This is Mary, famous on the island for her unbelievable talent at all things beading and making moccasins.}

{Our Moose Factory mama, Lorraine, hard at work! She's a pro too!}

{I thoroughly enjoyed my time beading!}

{This is my friend Rae, she's a dentist. I met her 1 year ago here when she came for 3 weeks to work, and she came back again this year for a week and a half! We love all of the friendships we make with nurses, doctors and dentists! She was so sweet to help us bead!}

{We've been digging brunch lately. This was our good bye brunch with the two nursing students who stayed with us for the first month that they were here.}

{pictures taken while eating...the best.

{The two nursing students in the middle, Olvie & Emily, and our friend Shelley on the right}

{I wasn't kidding when I said we've been digging brunch's...this is from a totally different brunch a few weeks ago. Also a good bye brunch...unfortunately you get used to good byes living up here. All of our teacher friends went home for the Summer so we said our good byes with this delicious food! No worries...at least our teacher friends will be back!! :) }

{ love 'em}

{favorite thing to eat lately: grilled cheese sandwich on homemade bread with avocado, turkey bacon and tomato. The homemade bread is what makes it soooooo yummy.}

{This was our commute to Church last Sunday. Josh was asked to preach in Moosonee so we took a gorgeous boat ride over first thing! One of my favorite things about where we live!}

{A huge teepee from Canada Day. We had such a fun Canada Day filled with friends, relaxing and pulling a fire truck. I can't believe that I don't have picture proof that I pulled a fire truck! But I did, and my team got 3rd place and won $400! Which I got $33 of. Ha! Every cent counts! :) Also, just because I'm sure many people have no idea what teepee's are actually used for these days. People here cook in teepee's a lot, over fire, the ladies and I actually sat in a teepee to bead. Mostly people good over fires in teepee's...and it's goooood}

{Our little sweet Liam boy. Moose Factory is known to have the best Canada Day celebration around. Lots of fun things to do and LOTS of Red & White. 4th of July has always been one of my favorite days, so I'm glad we at least got to celebrate big on this day!}

{Veggies...all day everyday.}

{I was super proud of this loaf. I made 4 other ones like it. I felt so Panera'y :) Seriously, there is nothing like homemade bread...go make some!!!}

{Yum. Also, I've been really into making my own homemade dressings. I love this one ! I just add a half teaspoon of honey to it! Yum!!!}
{ Oh! & these are the final products of the key chains! I made the one on the left! I love them! I wish y'all could smell the smoked hide...sooo good!}

 Well that's all here!

We are just getting excited for the group of 40 people that are coming up from Toronto and Pittsburgh!

OH, and my awesome mother in law found my CAMERA! Woo!!!

So you'll be seeing months old pictures soon!!!
